To increase public awareness on telecom fraud, Harbin’s public security bureau announced on Oct 19 that marked words on how to avoid fraud will be advertised on LED screens of taxis.

The marked words, which cover eight common forms of fraud, will be broadcasted every five minutes by about 16,000 taxis in the city. It is expected that the total number of broadcast could reach 2.3 million transmissions per day.

Statistics from Harbin public security bureau reveals that the fraud center in Harbin has launched 780 pieces of alert information to residents, successfully intercepting 623 fraud cases and avoiding property loss of about 17.43 million yuan since November 2016.
