German manufacturer to open Asia's first intelligent production line in Yantai

KHS GmbH, Germany's leading manufacturer of filling and packaging equipment will open a new intelligent production line for mineral water production in Yantai, East China's Shandong province, according to an agreement announced on Oct 15.

The production line will be housed in a new 20,000-square-meter factory built by Fruit Village Group, a Yantai-based food processing company for the German company which also doubles in the production of packaging equipments for the food and non-food sectors.

The upcoming 100-meter-long production line will integrate the functions of bottle blow-molding, labeling, filling, cap screwing and packaging with the operation of only one or two workers.

Once completed and put into operation, the efficient and intelligent manufacturing techniques will be the first of its kind in Asia and the third in the world, as one of the best examples of Germany's "Industry 4.0" plan.
