The Second Shenzhen-Central and Eastern European Countries Economy, Trade and Culture Forum is to be held in Shenzhen at the end of next month.

The forum will promote economic, scientific and cultural exchanges between Shenzhen and central and eastern European countries through lectures, field trips and other activities.

According to Lu Chuanzhen, secretary general of the Shenzhen Central and Eastern European Countries Economy and Culture Promotion Association, the industrial structure of Shenzhen and the requirements of central and eastern European countries are highly complementary and have extensive potential for cooperation. Those countries have a wide range of needs in products, technology and management for infrastructure construction, which the technology enterprises in Shenzhen can fulfill through their research and development strength and manufacturing capability.

The precedent to the forum was held in September, 2016, and attracted 151 guests from 12 central and eastern European countries.

According to Lu, on the basis of last year, more than 100 guests from Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and other countries in the area will be invited to attend this year's event.

In addition, the heads of ten European universities will be invited to exchange experience with leaders of local universities such as Shenzhen University and Southern University of Science and Technology.
