Film festival to screen in Zengcheng district

Guangzhou's 1978 Film Town in Zengcheng district has been chosen as the main venue for the Guangzhou International Documentary Film Festival, according to reports on Oct 16.

A film education base founded by organizing committee of China International Children's Film Festival was also set up at the town on Oct 16.

The 1978 Film Town is located on the east bank of Zengjiang River in Zengcheng district and covers an area of more than 200,000 square meters. It is home to more than 90 enterprises in the cultural creative industry.

The two projects will help Guangzhou promote the development of the city's movie industry and increase its global influence, according to a spokesperson from Guangzhou municipal bureau of press, publication, radio, film and television.

Xia Shunde, general manager of 1978 Film Town said it will push ahead with its industrial upgrading and restructuring and devote itself to building a whole industrial chain covering movie investment, shooting, production, post production and nurturing talents.
