Established mainly to serve enterprises in Nanyang and surrounding areas, the window will not only handle trade registration procedures including applications, payments, material reviewing and certificate issuing, but also offer relevant consultation services.

Previously, local enterprises had to apply for trademark registrations at the Trademark Office of the State Administration for Industry & Commerce in Beijing – more than 1,000 kilometers away – or they were obliged to entrust the formalities to agencies authorized by the State administration.

Now at the Nanyang service window, application materials can only be submitted by the enterprises directly, with no agencies being accepted. Meanwhile, the service is not open for enterprises from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and overseas.

Eligible enterprises can get their trademark registered in about nine months, while saving the trouble of long-distance travel, said Wang Zhuangzhuang, a staff member of the service window.
