From Oct 15 to Nov 14, during the 122nd China Import and Export Fair, Guangzhou Metro is expected to carry more than 8 million passengers a day. Apart from promoting e-services and volunteering services, Guangzhou Metro took this additional move to better serve its passengers from across the world.

The robot, named Xiaoyou, was mainly tasked with route consultation and guidance. It is capable of recognizing and understanding human language both in Chinese and English and can provide answers to questions based on the cloud database. Moreover, it can also guide the passengers to que when the platform is busy.

By now, only one robot has been introduced into the metro system which was deployed at Pazhou Station. Passengers who have problems finding their way to their destinations can directly speak to the robot. The process is simple and convenient.
