Covering 10.7 square kilometers, the planning area extends farther to the Nanyang Institute of Technology in the west and Baihe National Wetland Park in the east. Wolonggang, Wuhou Memorial Temple and Nanyang Museum of Han Stone Carving are three billboard tourist attractions in the area.

Based on their natural and cultural resources, a 1.79-sq-km core zone, which entails an investment of 10.6 billion yuan, will launch nine cultural projects such as an intangible culture museum cluster, convention center and entrepreneurship zone.

Also called for are an international jade exposition center, amusement park and restaurants to build the industrial cluster into a gateway of Nanyang's urban culture and guidepost in tourism.
