Guangzhou billionaire tops China’s rich list

The Hurun Research Institute released on Oct 12 its Hurun Rich List 2017 , China’s best-known ranking of the country's wealthiest individuals. Chairman of Evergrande Group Xu Jiayin, or Hui Ka Yan in Cantonese, topped the list for the first time with a stunning net worth of 290 billion yuan ($43 billion). Pony Ma, of Tencent, and Jack Ma, of Alibaba, ranks second and third place, respectively.
Evergrande Group mainly focuses on international and domestic real estate development and has been one of the Fortune Global 500 companies since 2016.
