China's oldest and largest wine maker, Yantai Changyu Pioneer Wine, won two awards at this year's International Wine & Spirits Competition (IWSC), one of the world's most prestigious wine contests, Jiaodong reported on Oct 10.

Liaoning Changyu Golden Valley Icewine Chateau Golden Diamond Level Icewine 2015 was honored with the Gold Outstanding 2017 award and the Chinese Wine Trophy 2017.

The IWSC judges spoke highly of the Changyu wine, and acclaimed it as an "excellent wine".

The judges' tasting notes on the official website of IWSC read: "Deep gold with orange lights; intense nose of orange marmalade, dried apricots, quince, and apple, butterscotch and nuts, lemon zest overlay; the palate has racy acidity in balance with richness of flavor and unctuous texture, lingering finish."
