Forum on big data opens in Sanmenxia

Sanmenxia, popularly referred to as the 'city of swan', has been making efforts in the promotion of the big data industry with a recent forum gathering experts and scholars.

Sponsored by Chinese Society of Space Research, National Geomatics Center of China and Sanmenxia Municipal Government, the forum held on Sept 26 was attended by Sanmenxia mayor An Wei.

An, in a keynote address pointed out that accelerating the development of big data industry is the trend and significant in enhancing the core competitiveness of urban areas.

In recent years, Sanmenxia has seized the opportunity to promote the big data industry and constructing itself into a smart city, he added.

Experts and industry insiders at the forum joined the discussion on the development prospect of big data application.
