Public transportation promoted in Sanmenxia

Henan province's city of Sanmenxia launched a promotional week to promote public transportation on Sept 19.

The one-week activity aims to publicize the development of urban public transportation in the city and relevant safety traffic knowledge.

To attract more attention, city officials printed more than 500 pamphlets to be shared in different communities and plans to hang slogans at most busy routes.

In recent years, Sanmenxia has been attaching importance to developing the urban public transportation system. It now has more than 20 lines in use for public buses. There are 187 new energy powered buses in operation, accounting for 69 percent of the total.

An intelligent mobile app to check the routes and shifts of urban buses have been put into use as well. The services of the public transport have been improved to better serve the residents.
