Wuxi business diaspora returns home for big meeting

Former Wuxi residents from across the world returned to their hometown on Sept 22 for the city's biennial business extravaganza.

More than 500 business leaders from across the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan, as well as far-flung countries such as the US, Canada and Australia, came back to the city in East China's Jiangsu province for the event.

The event's stated aim was to promote the Wuxi's powerful business "gene" and gather together the city's top business minds, and it produced a variety of fruitful results.

Deals for 18 projects worth a combined 25.66 billion yuan ($ 3.89 billion) were signed during the event, and a new Wuxi-Shenzhen-Hong Kong joint cooperative alliance was launched.
