The Young Artisans team of China Education Network Television (CEN TV) has focused their camera on a Hechi cultural heritage -- the embroideries made out of ponytails in the Vocational Education Central School of Hechi.

Known as the living fossil of embroidery, the Ponytail (Mawei) embroidery is a unique embroidery artistry inherited among the Shui nationality. Four students from the school, namely Yi Xiaofeng, Luo Rong, Qin Xinda and Wei Yanrong won skill challenges of Ponytail embroidery creative production held on Sept 18 to 19. They will fly to Beijing with Tan Xiuxian, Guangxi’s master craftswoman of the technique for the final shots of the program on Friday.

The Young Artisans program launched by CEN TV is a youth motivational item focusing on vocational school students. It is expected to call the society to attach more value to skilled personnel and artisans.
