Sanmenxia in Central China's Henan province has installed self-service machines at gas stations in the city to provide convenience to local drivers, local media reported on Sept 15.

The machines are primarily used for offering discounts and issuing cards to pay for refueling charges, saving the queuing time for the drivers.

The Sanmenxia branch of China's oil giant Sinopec Group launched the machines at three gas stations in the city's downtown, Lingbao and Shanzhou district.

"The machine not only benefits the drivers, but also eases the burden on us," said Wang Hongli, head of a Sinopec gas station in Sanmenxia.

The station can issue 40 refueling cards, with 80 percent done at the machines, according Wang.

Sinopec group plans to install more self-service machines in the city to benefit more local drivers.
