Nanyang to grow with Beijing Capital Agribusiness

Nanyang city government reached a strategic cooperation agreement with Beijing Capital Agribusiness Group (CAG) on Sept 12, seeking modern agriculture growth driven by scientific innovation.

The two sides will work on advancing agricultural technology, improving brand awareness, processing and raising livestock, and promoting of new varieties of crops especially in the fields of organic fruits and vegetables, grain and oil-bearing crops and edible mushrooms.

According to Mayor Huo Haosheng, Nanyang has been pushing forward its agricultural supply-side reform and as a result the rural economy has seen stable growth.

The cooperation with the Beijing-based agriculture giant is expected to boost industrial upgrading and turn Nanyang into a leader in agricultural scientific and technological development in Henan, a major agriculture province in Central China.

CGA owns total assets of 6.6 billion yuan ($1.01 billion), and has 40,000 employees and 64 state-owned and state holding enterprises.
