Tourism administrations at all levels and 20 tourism enterprises from Zhanjiang attended the China (Guangdong) International Tourism Industry Expo 2017 held in Guangzhou from Sept 8 to 10.

With eight themed pavilions and 4,500 stands, the expo received 3,000 exhibitors from 55 countries and regions around the globe. Tourism organizations from 25 provincial-level administrative regions of China also took part.

Zhanjiang has made full use of the expo to promote its natural environment and tourism resources, attracting interest from home and abroad.

The design of its stand highlighted the characteristics of Zhanjiang as a coastal city. Marine elements such as the ocean, coconut palms and marine animals were used to create a tropical and subtropical ambience.

The eighth episode of Charming China Cities, broadcast by CCTV, depicted Zhanjiang as one of 32 characteristic cities in China, showcasing its cityscape and beautiful scenery.

The television shows pits cities against each other in a competition to see which has the better scenery. Recently, Zhanjiang defeated Karamay to make it through the second round.

Maintaining a strong momentum in tourism, the city was party to many cooperation agreements and investment deals at the signing ceremony for tourist investment projects held at the expo.
