Guangzhou forges friendly-city ties with Tirana

Southern Chinese city of Guangzhou established friendly-city relationship on Sept 11 with Tirana, capital city of the Republic of Albania, with this, the total number of Guangzhou's sister cities and friendly cities have reached 69.

The news came during Ouyang Weiming, deputy Party chief of Guangzhou led a delegation to Tirana from Sept 9 to 11. On Sept 11, Ouyang signed a memo with Erion Veliaj, mayor of Tirana to enhance the communication and cooperation between the two cities in terms of areas such as trade and culture. 

Situated on the western slopes of Dajti Mountain in central Albania, Tirana is the capital and largest city of Albania. The city was founded in 1614. It is considered as the heart of Albania due to its geographic location and importance in finance, commerce, media, entertainment, arts, international trade, education, service, research and healthcare.
