Liaoning art festival to be held in Shenyang

The 10th Liaoning Art Festival is scheduled to be held in Liaoning province's capital city from Sept 13 to 22, with a total of 32 operas being staged.

Sponsored by Liaoning Provincial Cultural Bureau, this year's event brings new innovations to the traditional art festival. The majority of the operas will be staged in Shenyang, but some local opera groups will perform where a particular opera originated.

Liaoning art festival, which began in 1989, is held every three years. It's the highest-level art activity in Liaoning province, and it has successfully been held nine times, with around 130 operas performed to date.
