Sanmenxia promotes new energy industries

Sanmenxia is scaling up its renewable energy industry in a quest to establish safe, stable, and clean modern energy industry system to fuel socio-economic development.

Based on the government's resolve to rely on the photovoltaic industry to alleviate poverty in Mianchi, Shanzhou, Lingbao, and Lushi districts, the city has established 10 photovoltaic power station and distributed power station with the installed capacity of 130 thousand kilowatt in these areas.

According to a plan submitted for approval, the construction scale is about 400 thousand kilowatt, and a projection that each household within coverage can gain an additional income of 3000 yuan ($448) on average after completion.

Sanmenxia focuses on the development of wind energy with government support. The city has issued incentive policies to attract investment, and has introduced central enterprises such as State Power Investment Corporation for the development of the local wind energy industry. The wind energy industry in Sanmenxia ranks first for the scale of installation capacity, the approved capability, and operation benefits in Henan province.

Shanzhou district makes full use of geothermal resources and promotes the development of electricity generation, heating, rehabilitation, and tourism.

The district plans to build a key aged-care and vacation center. Wanjiang New Energy Group Limited in Shanzhou has supplied heating for 5 communities covering 780 thousand kilometer. Besides the developments in Mianchi, Shanzhou, Lingbao, and Lushi, the company is working on the construction of biomass power generation stations.
