Sanmenxia projects improve people's lives

Sanmenxia's set out at the beginning of 2017 to improve its people's livelihoods, and at the halfway point of the year, the city has made some good progress.

According to the Sanmenxia municipal government, 10 areas have been of key focus for improvement including poverty alleviation, improving the heat supply and environmental protection.

Official statistics show that Sanmenxia has made progress in poverty alleviation in last six months with the highest occupancy rates in the province's anti-poverty relocation project.

Meanwhile, the city has received good results in environment protection, with 93 days of good air quality in the past six months, ranking third in Henan province.

To improve the city's transportation, 10 roads are currently being upgraded, two further road maintenance projects complete.

For the city's education expansion project, 16 kindergartens are planned to be built. In the first six months of this year, a new kindergarten was put into operation with six under construction.
