Zhenping county of Nanyang, Henan province, recently selected local talents to form a think tank, aiming to use e-commerce as a driving force to improve people's livelihoods.

The government is following in the footsteps of e-commerce giants Alibaba, JD and Cuvnt who've launched projects in Zhenping resulting in rapid economic growth.

Using this momentum, the think tank has proposed to establish e-commerce stations across the county to sell local agricultural products and specialties online.

Meanwhile, farmers and villagers are being trained how to transform their traditional businesses to better take advantage of online e-commerce platforms.

Currently, there are six e-commerce stations operating in the county, after a series of training sessions being held.
