Sanmenxia secures steady growth in first six months

Sanmenxia has made steady economic progress in the first six months of 2017, according to the Henan province city's government.

In the first half of the year, Sanmenxia recorded an output value of 65.08 billion yuan ($9.63 billion), a year-on-year increase of 8.8 percent. It comes at a time when the city is promoting supply-side structural reform and developing new energy to drive economic growth.

Sanmenxia also achieved steady growth in agricultural production with the summer crops totaling 3.42 billion kilos, representing a rapid development in featured agriculture.

The total value added of industrial enterprises above designated size rose to 31.63 billion yuan, up 9.1 percent compared with the same period last year.

Bulk commodities, such as coal and cement, made steady growth, with major sectors growing at a two-digit pace.

The tertiary industry also enjoyed a 9.2 percent increase over the previous year.
