13th Zhanjiang sports meeting opens

The 13th Zhanjiang Sports Meeting kicked off at the Zhanjiang Sports Center on July 21.

The event has attracted more than 4,200 participants who will compete in 18 categories.

It is sponsored by the Zhanjiang government and organized by the Municipal Sports Bureau and the Municipal Education Bureau.

The event is divided into three groups – juveniles, middle school students and the public. It will run until August 8.

Activities such as ping-pong, badminton, soccer, basketball and tennis are set solely for the public to attract more engagement in sport and fitness around the city, according to the organizing committee.
