Media tour brings shantytown renovation back into the limelight

A Shanxi-style building in Beiliang on July 18. Most of the previous Beiliang residents were originally Shanxi residents. Baotou is home to many residents from Shanxi province, who began to migrate there on a large-scale during the Ming Dynasty (1388-1644).
