Transformers 'break' walls in Guiyang

Creative murals have sprung up in Guiyang, refreshing the streets and attracting many visitors, Guizhou City News reported on July 12.

Eleven murals painted by a local wall painting team called Nanfeng have brightened up the 800-meter walls around Shixi Binhe Commercial Street.

The imaginative young painters have creatively integrated images with the natural background, presenting vivid and interesting scenes.

The murals have had a positive impact in the region, luring more consumers to the commercial street.

"We are surprised by the creativity of the artists," said a Guiyang citizen who was taking a selfie in front of one of the murals.

"These are the first murals of their kind to decorate the streets of Guiyang," said Guo Rui, a manager of Shixi Binhe Commercial Street. "It's also a sign of freedom and vitality in the city."
