A work group led by Liu Zhaorui, chairman of the Nanyang CPPCC, inspected Nanyang Normal University (NYNU) on July 7.

First established in 1907, NYNU is a comprehensive institution of higher education with 23 schools along with 25,000 students and 1,100 teaching staff.

Liu commended the university’s achievements in nurturing outstanding college graduates who have thrown themselves into contributing to regional development in areas such as machinery, chemistry and even jade carving.

After the inspection, Liu said that he hoped NYNU could continue pushing forward in its specialty areas, further improve its teaching quality, upgrade its facilities and expand its cooperation with local enterprises.

The work group expressed their hopes that NYNU could continue to focus on its specialist faculties, such as jade carving, and embrace innovation-driven development so as to become an application-based university in the future.

Zhao Xiuling, vice chairman of the Nanyang CPPCC, also attended the inspection.
