Nanyang court system to get smart

A citywide training session was held at Nanyang Intermediate People's Court on July 7, to prmote the greater use of information technology (IT) in the court system at all levels.

The government has been championing a smart revolution in business and government services in recent years, with the legal system no exception.

The intensive training, featuring videos and demonstrations, promoted the use of IT, in the often bogged down court system, to improve effectiveness and efficiency. The public will soon be able to access secure public services online by using electronic signatures and identity management via customized online service platforms.

According to one official at the training, the smart court system will reduce document handling times as well as improve the quality of the judiciary service.
