“I had several inspection tours around China, and I believe that Lushunkou is a Mecca for retirement”Hitoshi Kobayakawa, CEO and president of Gakken Cocofump Corporation said at a meeting with Yi Qingtao, the Party secretary of Lushunkou district on June 16.

Hitoshi Kobayakawa led a Japanese delegation from the pension industry to Lushunkou.

Just like China, Japan is faced with the pressure brought by a quickly aging population, Kobayakawa said, therefore the government prioritizes the development of the pension industry.

The Gakken Cocofump Corporation, a Japanese residential care company, has launched over 100 apartments for the elderly in Japan.

“We hope Cocofump can bring Japanese elderly care concepts and patterns to Lushunkou,” Yi said, “our service plans to cover not only all the residents in the district but also people of the mid-high economic classes in Dalian, and also in the three provinces (Jilin, Liaoning and Heilongjiang) in Northeast China.”

Yi noted that Lushunkou has many supporting resources and successful cases of elderly care services, so the district is a great potential partner for Cocofump.

After the meeting, the Japanese delegation visited several elderly-care projects located in the district.
