Guangzhou TCM maker featured in UK press

Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Corporation (GPC) has made headlines in a supplement in a UK newspaper for its key products, management principles and development strategy.

China's leading pharmaceutical group and Guangzhou's second-largest municipally-owned company appeared in a double-page spread in The Daily Telegraph on June 14.

One of GPC's most popular products – Wanglaoji herbal tea, is said to rival popular soft drinks in China such Coca-Cola, according to the feature.

Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has been expanding in global markets in recent years, with the report saying that "GPC has also engaged in the frontiers of the global health industry."

The Belt and Road Initiative has helped TCM gain traction in 183 countries and regions, with 86 cooperation agreements on TCM signed between China and foreign governments, regional authorities as well as international organizations, according to the report.

As the largest patent pharmaceutical producer in China, GPC is on course to maintain its momentum and aims to further expand internationally.
