B&R School-company Association established in Lushunkou

On June 13, the launch ceremony of the ‘Belt and Road Initiative’ School-company Association on Cultural Exchange and Language was held at Dalian University of Foreign Languages.

The assembly adopted a Constitution of the Union, which appointed the first president and vice-presidents.

“The association is committed to promoting in-depth exchanges and cooperation between Liaoning province and the countries along the Belt and Road Initiative routes in the areas of education, culture, science and technology, and economics,” said Liu Hong, the first president of the association, who’s also the principal of Dalian University of Foreign Languages.

The association, consisting of more than 20 provincial universities and nearly 60 companies, is chaired by Dalian University of Foreign Languages.

Deputy Chief of Lushunkou district Guo Xiaodi said in a speech, “The establishment of the association has opened a new collaborative model for the development of ‘higher schools + language industries + government + enterprises’, which offers a rare opportunity for all parties involved.”

“The establishment of the association aims to implement the deployment and requirements of supply-side structural reform,” Liaoning Education Department Deputy Director Hua Lei emphasized, saying “We hope that as the chairman of the board, Dalian University of Foreign Languages will maintain close contacts with the members to promote in-depth integration of universities and allied companies.”
