Dancing star visits Pingtan

The famous Chinese dancer Yang Liping was given a tour of Pingtan, Fujian province on June 10, as the star considers investing in the up-and-coming island city.

Yang is famed for appearing in the performance art show Dynamic Yunnan, which has toured all across China and sold out many large venues.

The performer is planning to build an art-themed hotel in Pingtan, and she had arranged the visit to the city to select the hotel's location.

Accompanied by Xu Xiongxi, deputy director of the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone administrative committee, Yang strolled along winding country lanes hunting for the perfect spot for her new venture.

The star was impressed by the scenery in Pingtan, describing the lines of ancient stone houses, vast fields and blue skies in the countryside as "pretty as a painting".

Yang's new hotel in Pingtan will reportedly resemble closely Moon Mansion, her private residence on the shoreline of Erhai Lake in Yunnan province.
