Having retired among a storm of goodwill, the Taizhou native returned home to look after his father. Qin Sr. sadly passed away on March 5 and after a three month recovery period his son returned to Wuxi, his adopted hometown.

"I arrived home on March 1 and my father passed away four days later. It was shocking and devastating," Qin recently recalled.

Although Qin would prefer to resume his old job as a traffic conductor, the traffic police bureau doesn't allow reemployment, but on the bright side his new job is far more relaxing with shifts starting at 7 am and ending at 11 am. He can also rest at weekends and on holidays

Qin is testament to the fact there is dignity to be found in all manners of work and as time passes the man's attitude towards life remains resolute. "Working is always a joy," Qin says about the new job, his iconic smile lingering.
