The 2017 Dalian (Lushunkou) Cherry Festival opened to the public on June 2 in Taiyanggou, known as Dalian's "backyard garden".

During the harvest season around June, over 70 kinds of cherry trees, covering more than 3,333 hectares, are ripening. It is estimated that the annual output will be 30,000 tons.

Over 100 cherry picking gardens serve the public in Lushunkou.

Lushunkou has a long history of cherry cultivation due to its favorable geography and climate and has been named by tourists the "village of cherries".

Over the past decade, the annual cherry festival has also helped farmers market their cherries.

This year's festival plans to host various themed events integrating agriculture, tourism, culture and leisure.

During the festival, several leisure focuses including cherry-picking, spring events and agritourism, as well as many preferential measures, will be launched.

Information Centers located on South, Central and North Lushun Roads will serve festival guests arriving by car.
