Shenyang to see faster information services

Liaoning province will provide support for Shenyang to establish itself as a national-level big data industrial innovation development zone and as a cluster for the big data industry in Northeast China.

According to the information communication industry development layout plan launched by Liaoning province, Liaoning will take measures in four areas to support the improvement of Shenyang’s information services.

The first step is to achieve internet speeds of1,000 megabits per second in Shenyang. Based on the plan, all newly-built residential communities and future planned communities will have fiber optic internet connections, which will bringsignificant improvementsin network speeds. In addition, residential communities who already have fiber optic connections will get network speeds of1, 000 megabits per second or above in key areas.

The second measure the province will push forward is the construction of a 4G phone network in Shenyang, which will mean wider network coverage and a higher level of efficiency.

Meanwhile, Liaoning is following the progress of research into buildinga 5G network in Shenyang.

The fourth measure Shenyang will take is to improve public WiFi coverage, which will mainly bein areas such as government agencies, medical institutes, hotels, industrial parks and scenic spots. The service will allow users to enjoy rapid network speeds without having to login to different public WiFi accounts.
