"The talkfest creates a certain down-home intimacy. It will help to gather strength and resources to enhance Wuxi's innovation-driven transitional development," said Xu Dianqing, a Wuxi native and tenured professor at Canada's Western University.

"I will spare no effort to contribute to the development of my hometown."

"The talkfest offers me a great opportunity to see the booming economy and brand new look of my long-lost hometown," said Feng Guanping, president of the Shenzhen Graphene Association, a pioneer in China's graphene industry.

"Wuxi has cultivated a rich culture of innovation entrepreneurship as it keeps encouraging and rewarding innovation and start-ups. It provides impetus for long-term development for local economy."

Four study tours were organized in the morning before the meeting to explore the city's Buddhist culture, industrial and commercial culture, tourism resources and emerging industries.
