Cycling race begins in Shanzhou

One of the highlight activities of the 23rd Sanmenxia Yellow River Cultural Festival as well as the fifth China Special Products Trade Fair—the Shanzhou Cup Cycling Race will be held in Shanzhou on May 27.

The racing route traverses seven local counties including Nandan, Fengshan, Donglan, Bama and Dahua Yao autonomous county, covering a cycling distance of 415 km.

The route, believed to be the longest racing route in China, will be a great challenge for the competitors who will also appreciate the stunning landscape of the region.

Sponsored by the Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television of the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, the race aims to promote Sanmenxia's rich tourism resources, longevity culture and local customs.

The race will last until Dec 29, with rewards totaling up to 165,600 yuan ($23,800).
