NE China’s largest peony park to open in Lushunkou

A peony park, located at Great Wall Street, will become the largest one in North East China.

The largest peony park in Northeast China is to open in Lushunkou with more than 280,000 peony trees in 1,257 varieties, 24,000 Chinese herbaceous peonies and 10,000 lavenders.

The 400 year-old peony, a family heirloom formerly owned by a farmer in Heze city, Shandong province was bought by the head of the peony park last November after a period of negotiation and several visits. According to heritage experts, the peony was growing in the Wanli Period (1573-1620) of the Ming Dynasty.[Photo by Laobingshijue]
