Qingdao Kaken Health Co Ltd reached an agreement with Buurtzorg Nederland, Europe’s best known supplier of domestic services on April 18 in Qingdao, to bring in the world’s most advanced home-care model for the elderly.

Li Yantao, president of Qingdao Kaken Health Co Ltd, a prominent supplier of medical care for the elderly, nursing, and recovery services in Qingdao, said the two sides had made a couple of interactive field studies before the document was finally signed. Up until now, the two corporations co-built a nursing branch in the Shibei district of Qingdao.

"It is a great brand and the qualities Qingdao Kaken Health demonstrates attracted us to make it our partner. We hope, with our joint efforts, to expand the 'domestic health care for the elderly' model to more Chinese households," said Situ Wen, president of Buurtzorg Nederland (China).

Qingdao Kaken Health Co Ltd is a distinctive agency incorporating Kaken Cerebrum Vein Sickness Therapy Hospital and Kaken Nursing Home, covering comprehensive services for medical, nursing, and recovery care. "Kaken" has developed into one of the most famous brands in Qingdao.

Li emphasized that Buurtzorg completed working out a community care model realistic to present China. The insurance for healthcare would be cut down by about 30 percent with the services given by Buurtzorg, he added.

Buurtzorg is a pioneering healthcare organization established 10 years ago with a nurse-led model of holistic care that has revolutionized community care in the Netherlands. It has been rated as the largest health care service provider in Europe with innovative services active in 24 countries and regions including China, Sweden, the United States, Japan, Singapore, Germany, India, and New Zealand. It not only scaled fast but consistently achieves the highest client satisfaction ratings. In the past ten years, the company has developed various progressive models and systems, such as the OMAHA System and Buurtzorg Web, to better practice its services for patients and senior people suffering different chronic physical and mental diseases.

Jos de Blok, the founder and CEO of Buurtzorg, won the famed Albert Medal of Honor awarded by the Royal Society of Arts (RSA) in Britain because of his accomplishments and contributions made to the world.

Qingdao is one of China's cities designated as a national pilot city for integrating medical services with healthcare, and this need is intensified by the booming ageing population. The city promised to promote cooperation between hospitals, nursing homes, and recovery centers as an active response to China’s 13th Five-Year Plan. At the beginning of 2017, the city hosts 232 registered health care organizations for the elderly and 180 organizations providing both medical and nursing care.
