Public bike-sharing services have been heating up in some of China’s big cities over the last year, and now the trend has reached the streets of Dalian Lushunkou city in North East China’s Liaoning province.

Mobike, whose bikes stand out with their bright orange color and stylish and smart design, became the first bike-sharing company in Lushunkou city on Apr, 11, and released 4,000 mobikes across the city and in 10 universities.

Lunshunkou city says that it chose Mobike as a partner for its cycling market due to their perfectly matched beliefs on a green development strategy. Of course, Mobike offers technology advantages and industry-leading experience as well.

Lushunkou city, a tourism and leisure center, is relatively small with distances between many of its major sights invariably cycle-able. However, cycling has not been not widely used there. Release of the Mobikes is intended to solve the problem and connect users to public transit networks. Slow travel by bicycle is expected to become a new model for future travel.

The government also stated that they would work more deeply with Mobike to establish a reproducible smart public bike-sharing transportation system in terms of parking, management, credit system use and public good.
