Baotou Light Industry Vocational Technical College has established its 12th traveling library in the city of Baotou recently, according to reports from Baotou Daily.

The program began in 2013 when a vocational school began a program that toured a library to three military camps and a nearby community school. Initially, a grouping of books was curated and sent to the military camps as a gift. However, over time the idea has evolved and the program expanded.

The traveling library service has broadened its reach with 12 separate programs operating throughout Baotou. These include travelling libraries in the Bayan Obo mining district, Tumd Right Banner, and Jianhua Community.

Eventually, the program hopes to be available to all city residents in an effort that will promote reading and literacy for local citizens.
