1. The completion of real estate investment

From January to September, the national real estate development investment reached 10,348.4 billion yuan ($1,548.12 billion), a year-on-year increase of 5.6 percent, 1.0 percentage points higher than that from January to August. Among them, the residential investment was 7,656.2 billion yuan, an increase of 6.1 percent and the growth rate was higher 0.8 percentage point.

From January to September, the investment in real estate development in the eastern region was 5,502.3 billion yuan, with a year-on-year increase of 6.5 percent, and the growth rate was 1.0 percentage point higher than that from January to August; the investment in the central region was 2,067 billion yuan, an increase of 0.9 percent, and a decrease of 1.1 percent from January to August; the investment in the western region was 2,351.8 billion yuan, an increase of 8.1 percent, with a growth rate of 0.2 percentage point; the investment in the northeast was 427.3 billion yuan, an increase of 4.4 percent, with a growth rate of 0.4 percentage point.

From January to September, the housing construction area of real estate development enterprises was 8,598.2 million square meters, a year-on-year increase of 3.1 percent, and the growth rate was 0.2 percentage points lower than that of from January to August. Among them, the residential construction area was 6,070.31 million square meters, an increase of 4.0 percent. The newly started area of houses was 1,600.9 million square meters, a decrease of 3.4 percent and a decrease of 0.2 percentage point narrower. Among them, the newly started residential area was 1,171.93 million square meters, a decrease of 4.2 percent. The area of completed houses was 413.38 million square meters, down 11.6 percent, and the decline rate was expanded by 0.8 percentage point. Among them, the completed residential area was 295.97 million square meters, down 10.5 percent.

From January to September, the land purchase area of real estate development enterprises was 150.11 million square meters, a year-on-year decrease of 2.9 percent, an increase of 0.5 percentage point compared with January to August; land transaction price was 931.6 billion yuan, an increase of 13.8 percent, and a growth rate of 2.6 percentage points.
