In 2019, the non-financial outbound direct investment reached 763.0 billion yuan, a decrease of 4.3 percent over that of the previous year, or $110.6 billion, down by 8.2 percent. Of this total, that to countries along the Belt and Road reached $15.0 billion, a decline of 3.8 percent.

In 2019, the accomplished business revenue through contracted overseas engineering projects was 1.19 trillion yuan, up by 6.6 percent over that of the previous year, or $172.9 billion, up by 2.3 percent.

Specifically, the accomplished business revenue from countries along the Belt and Road was $98.0 billion, an increase of 9.7 percent, accounting for 56.7 percent of the accomplished business revenue through contracted overseas engineering projects.

The number of workers sent abroad through overseas labor contracts was 490 thousand.
