The Tianchengtai Resort

The Tianchengtai Resort is located on Beiquan Beach to the west of Wushi Port, a national fishing port at Beibu Bay. Sandy deposits, accumulated from years of tidal sands and wind, form the forefront of the Wushi Fishing Port, which looks like a natural terrace, thus the name “Tian Cheng Tai”, meaning naturally formed terrace. It is about 70 kilometers away from Leizhou, a national historically and culturally well-known city, and 140 kilometers away from Zhanjiang. It is a conveniently accessible natural island with beautiful scenery.

The resort, embraced by the sea, has a total area of more than 600 mu (40 hectares) and boasts a beach stretching for 4 kilometers. The white sands are thick and soft. Tourism experts rate it as one of the best beaches in the world.

The resort faces the Beibu Gulf (the Gulf of Tonkin). With clean seawater, small waves, a peaceful bay free from undercurrents and sharks, and mild temperature throughout the year (20 C-29 C), it is a seaside bathing reservation suitable for swimming all the year round.

There are lush coconut trees, orchards, various flowers and carpet-like lawns in the resort, with the green coverage rate above 90 percent. The mild climate, and pleasant environment makes it an ideal choice for accommodation during your visit in Zhangjiang.

According to geological surveys, the 600-meter-deep underground hot spring has abundant resources of water, which contains such minerals as sulfide and calcium oxide, and has an average temperature of 45 C, thus having a remarkable curative effective for various kinds of skin diseases and arthritis.

Near the seashore of the resort, there are many colorful coral reefs under the sea. The resort is famous for its glamorous fishing villages and serves genuine specialties of the South China Sea, such as fresh and lively seafood, dry fishes or shrimps, and owns a high-quality marine farm and pearl processing factory. With beautiful tropical scenery, the charming sea and enticing beaches, intoxicating holiday atmosphere and unique fishing villages, it is called “the Penglai Island in the Beibu Gulf with Coconut Trees”.

Construction of the Tianchengtai Resort was initiated in April 1997 and on December 18, 2003, the Leizhou Tianchengtai Tourist and Holiday Resort Co. Ltd was officially registered (with a registered capital of 10.05 million yuan and Mr. Li Chunqian as the legal representative).

The resort went into operation during the 2004 Spring Festival, and is affiliated to Leizhou Huadali Property Development Co. Ltd. Although it is financially independent, it is under the administration of the Leizhou City Tourism Administration.

On March 28, 2005, it passed the national AAA quality appraisal. It is the only seaside tourist resort offering catering, lodging, recreational activities, travelling and shopping services in Leizhou. From 1997 to 2010, the Company made a total investment of more than 90 million yuan. The first-phase project covers an area of 300 mu (20 hectares). So far, a modern resort has taken shape and all infrastructures are in place.

Currently, there are 14 deluxe villas and high-end guest houses (with 85 guest rooms and 170 beds), a multi-purpose banquet hall that can hold more than 300 people, a multimedia multi-purpose conference room, a training room, a recreation center, a hot spring bathing room, a SPA, a skating rink, a shopping mall, a fitness center, and a karaoke hall. Moreover, there are five restaurants featuring seafood, with a floor area of 3,000 square meters.

An ecological zone covering an area of 650 mu (43.34 hectares) to the north of the resort, featuring aquatic amusement and a resting place for migrant birds has been constructed.

The Tianchengtai Ecological Farm, which covers an area of 700 mu (46.67 hectares) and is located five kilometers away from the resort, has also been constructed.
