Zhejiang's innovation accelerates in 2025

Manufacturing, AI, and sci-tech investment all accelerated last year.

In 2025, Zhejian's industrial sector expanded steadily, with the added value of industrial enterprises above designated size — enterprises with annual revenue of at least 20 million yuan ($2.7 million) — growing by more than 6.5 percent. Core AI industry revenue rose over 20 percent, while more than 6,000 high-tech enterprises and 17,600 tech-based small and medium-sized firms were newly added. Sci-tech innovation investment increased 5.6 percent, underscoring the province's push toward advanced manufacturing and technology-driven growth.
