The German-language musical Elisabeth made a triumphant return to Guangzhou Opera House on Wednesday in concert form. Known as the “crown jewel of German musicals”, the 2026 production captivated audiences with powerful music, elegant costume and striking visuals. Focused on the drama’s core themes of fate, freedom and life, the concert reignited the timeless legend of Empress Elisabeth (1837-98).
