The original drama Diancui by Nantong Art Theatre premiered at the Gengsu Theatre in Jiangsu’s Nantong on Sunday. Set during the 1930s, it follows a drama troupe’s journey to safeguard art and national spirit amid turmoil, symbolized by the traditional “Diancui” headpiece — a powerful tribute to the belief that culture never dies.
Diancui is a traditional Chinese craft which involves delicately attaching dyed bird feathers to metal ornaments.
