This "military water flask" from the Western Xia Dynasty (1038–1227) features four side lugs for easy attachment to a horse's saddle or a rider's back, making it ideal for traversing the vast grasslands. It vividly captures the nomadic life of the Tangut people.
Unearthed in Ciyaobao kiln site, Lingwu county, Ningxia, this flask is decorated with intricate floral carvings and is now displayed at the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Museum.
