This Western Han Dynasty (206 BC-AD 24) wooden ruler depicts a continuous pictorial scene of chariots and horses on the move with paintings on both sides. An elephant chariot is a highlight, on which two figures sit face to face and beat drums. Abundant motifs such as swirling clouds, mountains and immortals blend reality and myth.
Unearthed from the Shuanglong Han Dynasty (206 BC-AD 220) Tomb, this ruler is now preserved in the Lianyungang Museum. Celebrated as "the most beautiful Han ruler in China", it is a true gem among Jiangsu's rich Han Dynasty artifacts.
