The large-scale multimedia show In Search of a Dream of the Great Han: Ode to the Han recreates Han Dynasty (206 BC-AD 220) rituals to the greatest extent possible. From script, music, costumes, sets, props and styling, to video production and on-stage performance, it strives to present the most authentic and meticulous cultural symbols of the Han Chinese ethnicity — court ceremonies, wedding rituals, imperial academy education, traditional festivals, music, dance, and acrobatics — tracing the origins of Han Chinese traditions. The production aims to deeply engage with the fabric of Han culture, rediscover Han history and reaffirm Han heritage.

This epic masterpiece explores the origins of the Han Chinese people, drawing upon historical anecdotes and legends from the Han Dynasty’s rise and transformation. Rooted in national culture, it fuses global artistic forms such as song, dance and acrobatics, while employing cutting-edge lighting, sound, stage design and costuming to create a dreamlike atmosphere. By reinvigorating the static cultural legacy of the Han into a vivid, immersive experience, the show delivers a powerful feast for the senses.
