A scenic highway through the mountains opens in Chongqing

On July 1, the 118.6-kilometer Wuyunkai Expressway officially opened in Chongqing! This new route cuts travel time from Kaizhou district to Wuxi county via Yunyang county from 2.5 hours to just 1.5 hours, benefiting over three million people along the way.

This expressway is more than a mere road—it serves as a vital link connecting six major cultural and tourist destinations, forming a golden tourism corridor through breathtaking mountain scenery. It also boosts tourism, logistics, and agriculture, linking southern Shaanxi province and western Hubei province, and strengthening the economic ties between Chongqing, Sichuan, Shaanxi, and Hubei.
